The Wedge Gate Valve is a full-bore, metal-sealed isolation valve engineered for oil and gas wellhead, Christmas tree, and production manifold applications. Designed and manufactured in full compliance with API SPEC 6A, this wedge gate valve delivers reliable shutoff, smooth operation, and long service life under high-pressure, high-temperature, and corrosive wellbore conditions.
The wedge gate valve features a solid wedge-shaped gate with two precisely machined sealing faces. When closed, the tapered wedge structure presses the gate sealing faces tightly against the valve seat faces to form a positive metal-to-metal seal. The hand wheel loading can be adjusted to regulate the fastness of attachment between the gate and the valve seat, allowing the operator to fine-tune sealing performance throughout the valve’s service life.
Key Features & Benefits
API 6A Full Compliance
The wedge gate valve is designed in accordance with API SPEC 6A and other relevant international specifications, ensuring interchangeability, safety, and acceptance in global oilfield projects.
Flexible End Connections
Available in a full range of end connection types to suit different piping and wellhead configurations:
Wedge-Type Sealing Structure
Both sealing faces of the gate adopt a wedge type structure. The self-tightening wedge action generates increasing sealing force as differential pressure rises, providing reliable bubble-tight shutoff and easy force adjustment through the hand wheel.
Hard Alloy Overlay for Extreme Wear Resistance
The sealing faces of the gate and valve seat are overlaying-welded (or spray-welded) with hard alloy, delivering outstanding resistance to:
Simple, Reliable Operation
Manual hand wheel actuation offers direct, predictable operation with adjustable seat-loading, reducing the need for complex actuators and lowering total cost of ownership.
